Illumitas is an online service that creates html web pages to publish your literary work, be it a novel, poem, essay, short story, diary, etc. These html pages form of a virtual book with the text automatically divided into pages that visitors can "turn" and even bookmark using their browser's bookmark/favorites capabilities. In order to earn money from you work, Illumitas allows you to insert advertisements into or adjacent to your work.

Illumitas is for writers who want to publish their work on the web.

Aspiring authors frustrated with constant rejections to their query letters by publishers and literary agents can circumvent the old frustrating path to publication.
Authors who have books that are no longer regularly stocked on bookstore shelves can breathe new life into their aging novels.
Creative minds seeking a quick and easy way to share their vision without the rigmarole of traditional publishing can do so.

How does Illumitas work?

You start by signing up for an account. Once you log in, you can create a virtual novel where you can add chapters, illustration, and advertisements. When you are ready you can have Illumtas create the html files that will make up your web pages and then download them to your computer. From there you can unzip then upload those files to your web site. Because you have an account with Illumitas, you can log back in later to make changes and regenerate you novel's html code. You can use Illumitas to create as many novels as you want.

How much does Illumitas cost?

When you first sign up, you are a trial user. It cost's you nothing, but you are limited to 2000 letters and 1 illustration in your novels. Also, you can't insert advertisements. If you wish to sign up for full membership to remove those limitations, it will cost $50.

What extra features does Illumitas include?

Illumitas allows for you to include illustrations in your work.
Advertisements can be inserted in the margins around your work or even between pages
You can divide your work into chapters and Illumitas will automatically generate a table of contents.
