Ruralscape
The ride through the dark mountain pass was fast
and harrowing. Many times I only just dodged
low braches and instant before they took my head
off. My kevlar racing suit protected me, but
Moonshine, who was riding with me kept wincing
in pain. Doubless her arms and legs were being
scracted to pieces by twigs and branches.
Luck was with us. We emerged into the Green
River vally with no one suffering major injuries
and beat the Dragons to Kristiania. The horizon
was brightening with the dawn, but the sun would
not break the horizon for another half hour.
The Wolf Pack gathered the hippied before the
doors to the lodge. They were ragged and dirty.
Only thirty had remained in Kristiania. The
rest had left during the previous day and night
convined New Eden was a lost cause.
“Did you kill their leader?” King Thoreau asked
Wolf.
