Wolf had decided that the reconnaissance
missions were to leave at noon the next day.
However, we were interrupted in our preparations
mid morning by the shouts of the king. “She’s
gone, man, she’s gone!” His hysterical shouts
echoed through the old lodge.
I made my way to the throne room. The others
were already there. I leaned towards Franklin
and asked, “what’s happening?”
“Starshine went to the oil well last night with
a hundred hippies. Only one came back.”
I looked towards the King. He held his head by
the ears as if he were trying to prevent it from
flying off. There was a naked man lying on the
floor by the throne. The man was sobbing
uncontrollably. Blood trickled from his inner
thighs.
Wolf kicked the man. “Get a grip, and tell us
what happened,” he demanded in a clear and calm
voice.
“They were there...sob...we
attacked...sniff...but they were too fast.”
